Marriage- We are a Team
Sometimes we don’t realize the value in another person until an incident happens or we see how everyone else recognizes the actual value first. But in the 43 anniversary years (so far) of being married to Denise, I see she is so esteemed by everyone around her. When I have been impatient, I have woken up and asked myself, ‘What have I been thinking?’ Denise’s value and worth is so enriching to my life. I’m so thankful for her. I admire her wisdom and relational skills. I don’t know anyone who can function as she does in those areas. In my eyes, I feel she’s ‘off the charts, and I definitely
married ‘up’!
Proverbs 3 speaks of God's wisdom….and I think of her…”Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.”
Dennis is such a hard-working and devoted man. He has a heart of kindness toward others and has always been friendly to all. He’s very loving to me, as his wife and an adoring Dad & Pappaw.
Dennis and I have grown up together in so many ways. We were young and came from difficult family circumstances. Through God's hand on our lives He has brought us through every challenge. His Spirit and Word and the relationships in the body of Christ have helped us navigate the path forward.
Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
Oh boy, has that been the story of our lives?! Learning to walk in forgiveness, learning new ways to communicate, and laughing at ourselves a lot has helped us. We live a life beyond our dreams and expectations because of the goodness of God. We will never stop growing.
I appreciate the dedication and tenacity, and fortitude in Dennis’ life. He is a true servant of the Lord and his family. He lives and breathes His calling to share the good news with others.
As Paul said in Ephesians 5:32, "Marriage is the beautiful design of the Almighty, a great mystery of Christ and His church. So every married man should be gracious to his wife just as he is gracious to himself. And every wife should be tenderly devoted to her husband."
If you are married or desire to be….We pray you embrace the gifts of one another in your life and the power of agreement together.
